How smile affects brain and body

Do you know that the smile is the 2nd among the 43 habits of absolutely happy people? And this is not an accident at all, because numerous scientific studies have shown that smile affects many factors in our lives.
The smile increases the attractiveness. Think about people you know well and remind how they look with a smile and without. When you smile, people perceive you as reliable, relaxed and honest. With a smile you look sympathetic, kind and polite. Your charisma is also growing. Therefore  most salers are smiling, because it increases their sales. Even when you do not see someone, but only talk on the phone, you can feel whether he or she is smiling with straight backs, or is crroked and without a smile.
During smiling you have a positive influence for others. Everyone likes to receive smiles. As a rule, the smile is contagious and thanks to emotional empathy, also known as feedback, we respond with a smile. In addition, the view of the smiling face activates the observer’s frontal brain, which is responsible for the aword. People willingly stay in the company of smiling people, and are also more willing to do business with them.
In addition, the smile affects not only your external surroundings, but also your level of happiness and contentment. Every time you smile, a little party takes place in your head, and your brain feels mega happy. The brain produces good neurotransmitters such as dopamine, serotonin and endorphins, happiness hormones. Dopamine provides energy, motivation and is necessary to change habits. Endorphins reduce pain and cause positive feelings throughout the body. Serotonin, controls the general mood. British scientists have found that one smile stimulates the brain to happiness, like 2000 chocolate bars. Eating such a large amount of chocolate certainly would not be healthy, but smile of course yes, because it reduces stress and blood pressure. Regular smiling improves the immune system, because it increases the production of white blood cells responsible for the formation of antibodies.
Who would have thought that one simple and easy thing like a smile can do so much good: you look better, you improve your mood, give people the feeling of reward, reduce stress, positively affect your health and build better relationships. And what’s the most interesting and the weirdest at the same time, this works not only with real, honest smile, but also artificially created. It may seem strange to smile in a situation not to laugh, but it is worth doing. It will improve our mood and we will start to notice more positives. When you can not artificially create a fake smile on your face, put a pencil between your teeth. Then similar muscles work as with a sincere smile and the mood improves.
There are three main types of smiles:
1. sincere smile – is simetrical. The lips are wide stretched and the corner lifted upwards, the eyes also laugh and wrinkles appear in the outer corners of the eye. Often in this smile we show teeth. We use this type of smile when something honestly laughs to us, for children or people we like.
2. Polite smile – it is also symmetrical, but it is softer extended, definitely without showing teeth and often without engaging the eyes. We use this type of smile for people we do not know much and want to be kind or polite. A variation of this smile can be in stressful situations or when we want to mask nervousness or embarrassment, but we have good intentions.
3. A mocking smile – this is the only one negative smile. It is asymmetrical and the eyes do not show joy, only evil or cunning. We should treat this kind of smile as a warning against the intentions of the interlocutor.
In other cases, the smile is positive and worth frequent use. It is interesting that children are born with this skill and smile while awake and sleepand even some photos of smiling fetuses in my mother’s stomach were taken.
Children generally smile a lot more than adults. British sociologists questioned about 2,000 people and established that optimists smile 7 to 11 times a day, pessimists the maximum once, and 6-year-old children up to 300 times. For me it was very surprising when I found out. The strangest thing is that to smile you need to involve 5 to 17 muscles, and to show sadness up to 47, and yet we smile so little.

Robert Provine proved that we smile more often in the company than when we are alone. This is due to the fact that only 15% of laughter comes from the humor of the joke. Probably not once you had being in amused company, when even a weak joke was much more ridiculous than read in solitude.
A smile can be the beginning of laught. Normally, during inhalation, 0.5 liters of air goes to our lungs, while, when we laugh loudly, up to 1.5. In other words, thanks laughing, we oxygenate the body better.
That’s why I have a surprise for you. Something for health. I chose the most contagious and funny laughs. Surely you will not be able not to smile.
If you smiled, leave a smiley face in the commentary, they play the same role as smile in the real world. Thanks.

How to find and maintain motivation

Today I will talk about motivation. Motivation is a difficult player, sometimes it is and sometimes it is not there. But what is the motivation? Steven Pressfield presented it perfectly in his book The War of Art. Motivation is when the pain of not doing something is greater than the pain of doing it. Well, there is something in it. It is often that when you reach a wall, you find that you can not take it anymore and take action to change.

According to Newton’s first rule, the object in motion remains in motion. Therefore, it is often easier to finish something than to start. Before you start, doubts and fears in your head effectively stop your actions. However, if you ignore them for a moment and start moving forward step by step, then it somehow goes and you achieve your goal.

Therefore, apart from your goal, in which you believe and what is important for you, it is good to work out some simple rituals that will make your work automatic and help you keep moving even with during the decrease of motivation. For example, I dance on a mat every day. I like it, but sometimes I just do not want to. However, if only I can convince myself to go pour water into two cups, spread the mat and turn Stepmania on, the rest the rest is done automatically. Because these ritual activities are simple and do not require practically any type of decision: exercise or not, so any discomfort lasts only a moment, and the conscious mind will not know what’s going on when I already dance on the mat and I’m happy. I also have my rituals for recording movies for you or writing posts. The idea is to simplify and automate the start of main action. When you do not have rituals, you can only count on getting up in the morning thinking, “I hope that today I will be motivated to act.” Rituals, on the other hand, cause that you start action regardless of the motivation. The motivation appears, when you see an approaching goal, curiosity and the end effect are activated.

Sometimes it is difficult to start, but it is always worth to finish.

How to improve your motivation. The tasks that you set yourself can not be too easy, because then you will get bored quickly or too difficult, because then you will be discouraged. They should be on limit of availability for you. They should be a challenge, but it can be done by you. Of course, different thinks are possible or impossible to do for everyone. That’s why tasks should be chosen individually, so that you feel you can do it. Then the ambition will drive you forward.

We achieve the peak motivation in the so-called flow, that is, when the task is so absorbing for you, that you forget about God’s world. I am in flow during artistic challenges and embroidering pictures. Musicians are usually in flow when creating or performing songs. A great seller can enter this state during negotiations with the client. For everyone, it can be something different. Usually, the flow state is related to something you love to do, or what you spend a lot of time on. My mum always said that if you put enough effort and time in something, you would like it.

The decrease of motivation often occurs, when we start to listen to our thoughts too much. As a rule, I do not allow my thoughts open a spiral of doubt up, and as soon as I notice that they want to break and discourage me from acting, I calm down by meditating. After that I am able to treat my thoughts as suggestions, not orders. Then you can choose what you want to do. Postpone action until tomorrow and feel the temporary relief of rest, or overcome fatigue or temporary reluctance, do something to the end and have a long-term satisfaction.

Try always to close conversation in your head before itdiscourages you. Maintaining motivation is definitely easier than resuscitating it.

Write in the comment, how do you deal with the decrease of motivation in the form of “I do not want to” or “What if …”.

How to distinguish intuition from thoughts

Today I will tell you how to distinguish intuition from ordinary or persistent thoughts.

It is said that intuition is our best adviser and it is good to listen to it. But how can we be sure that what we hear is the voice of intuition and not our persistent thoughts. How to recognize, whether it is intuition or maybe thoughts resulting from our beliefs? I also had such doubts, so I decided to explore the subject and share with you what I was able to define. I found 14 differences that will allow you to recognize the voice of intuition in an unambiguous way. And if you listen to it and have the courage to follow it, it’s a completely different matter and depends on your decision.

Well, to the point. We start the comparison.

Intuition comes from your highest self and thoughts from the lowest one.

The voice of intuition is always calm, and the thoughts are feverish and fear-provoking. Intuition, even if tells you something unpleasant, does not raise anxiety or fear, as opposed to thoughts that in extreme cases may even trigger a panic attack. Intuition is devoid of emotion. Then you can give it an emotional charge, thinking about what it told you, but it’s not emotional in itself.

Intuition helps in the present and gives you the tips you need. Thoughts are rather accidental and unrelated to what is happening at the moment.

The voice of intuition is always quiet, thoughts scream and billow in the head.

Intuition usually suggests once, sometimes twice, and then disappears. Thoughts billow and grow.

The intuition sounds loving and supportive, and the thoughts are depressing and discouraging.

When intuition speaks, you just know that it is good, you have no doubt. You may not have the courage to listen to it, but you know it is good. Persistent thoughts, on the other hand, create a spiral of fears and doubts, and you can not stop them.

Intuition opens the mind and new possibilities, and persistent thoughts close the heart and mind, making you feel helpless and blocked.

Intuition solves problems and thoughts create them.

Intuition directs you to enter a higher level, builds up. Persistent destructive thoughts. Especially if you have been accustomed to looking for problems and defects in everything, your thoughts will give you thousands of obstacles, fears and problems.

Intuition prompts you to help others, and persistent thoughts create a barrier of ‘me’ and ‘rest of the world’.

Intuition helps you show your way and understand what you feel and think about what you want, while thoughts take on beliefs and influences from others. For example, if you are staying with someone who speaks with an accent, soon you will start talking with such an accent, too.

Intuition suddenly appears out of nowhere as something like “Aha!” And thoughts are triggered by external stimuli and create a sequence, one thought evokes another.

It’s best to listen to your intuition in silence, and thoughts can roar even in noise.

These are all differences between intuition and persistent thoughts. I think that now you will not have any problems recognizing the voice of your best adviser – intuition. The easiest way to remember is that intuition is a one-time whisper that wants the best for you, develops you, shows you new solutions and does not cause anxiety or fear.

That’s all for today, write in a comment, do you listen to your intuition, or you can distinguish it from persistent thoughts. If you find this video valuable, share with someone important to you, subscribe and press the bell to know when I will add another video. Take care, hi.

How to visualize effectively and safe

For those who prefer to read:

Visualizations are a powerful tool, they can really change a lot. Why do we have the impression that visualizations do not work, or even carry the opposite effect than we would expect. This is not due to the fact that visualizations do not work. They work, but we do not realize our subconscious, and specifically what’s inside us. What are our beliefs and thoughts? Our mind produces 70,000 thoughts a day. Most of them are unconscious and if we do not work with them – negative. That’s because our mind is structured to learn from experience and follow the least line of resistance, so if we want to change something, it requires our commitment and effort. For years, beliefs have been created in our minds that are installed by parents, teachers and the environment. I do not think that they intentionally upload negative and limiting beliefs. In most cases, they do it out of concern or unconsciousness. Well, yes, but how does it relate to visualizations. Well, if, for example, we dream to have more money and visualize a mountain of money, it may turn out that we will have even less money. How is it, Why? First of all, if the visualization is based on a lack, then there are strong negative emotions connected with it. The more we focus on the lack of, for example, that we no longer want to be poor, we do not want to have debts, we do not want to limit ourselves, the more we get what we do not want. Therefore, when you make a visualization you have to change “I do not want” to “have”, “I am” or “I want to”.

I do not want to be poor. (we turn it into) I’m rich.

I have no money. (we exchange it for) I have money.

I do not want to have debts (turn into) I have enough for everything.

The second thing is the beliefs and connections between them. If, for example, someone has no money and dreams of money, but thinks for example that the first 1,000,000 must be stolen, or that wealth negatively influence on your behavior, then nothing will come out. Therefore, first you have to clean the mind, for example through meditation, take care of a positive attitude and work on negative beliefs about the subject you want to visualize. So prepared, sit down to visualization.

Sit or lie down comfortably. Make sure that you do not get distracted by the phone, TV set, household, etc. Take a few deep breaths. Imagine that you inhale good and exhale evil. Then move your imagination to the place where you want to be. You can imagine that you are moving to a parallel world where you have everything you want. See what you have around, what car is in the garage, how your room looks, who is with you what your everyday day looks like, what you do, what emotions do arise in you. Try to take care of all your senses in your imagination (what you see), hearing (what you hear), smell (which smells reach your nose, taste (what you eat ) and touch (what are the textures and structures of particular objects, materials). Come in. The more details you imagine, the better, remember to think only about positive things, enjoy this moment in the parallel world and remember it well.

Return to your present place and open your eyes slowly you will be ready. Several times a day, although for a few seconds, remind these feelings from your parallel world, and repeat the visualization daily before going to bed. In the imagination behave as if you already had everything you want, and in fact, approach it without expectations, it would be good … Be open, for what appears in your life, for occasions, people, new things and give yourself a chance. as in this piece about winning the lottery, when the faithful prays to God and asks him to win, and God answers: Send a coupon. 🙂

Write in the commentary how do you like the movie, how do you feel with visualisations, what is changing in your life.

Optimist / pesimist and action taking

Today I read an interesting article about optimists and pessimists. Well, scientists from the Institute of Technology in California (Catech) conducted research related to the way of thinking and taking action.
The subjects had 1 second to memorize the sequence, 15 seconds to plan their movements in advance, and then only 10 seconds to complete the task. In subsequent trials, the subjects received money for taking part in the research depending on the result. First, $ 5 for the success or loss of $ 1 for the mistake, then the reverse, and the last trial in both cases for $ 5. As a result of magnetic resonance imaging, it turned out that those who had a positive attitude and believed that they would go well, their brain worked harder to success. On the other hand, in pessimists, their brain worked harder on conservatively, avoiding defeat. In both cases, the amount of compensation and / or loss played had a smaller role than could be expected.
Well, it came to my mind that although I consider myself optimistic and usually look for positives, these are situations in which I behave conservatively. That was a big surprise for me. And how is it with you, write in the commentary 🙂
